The Miraculous Medal is a Marian symbol of devotion to Mary. The medal is believed to bring special graces through intercession of Mary for those who devoutly wear it. The front side of the medal has a Prayer: "oh Maria sin pecado concebida ruega por nosotros que recurrimos a vos". The reverse of the is inscribed with a cross and initial M surrounded by 12 stars. Two stars below the M symbolize Jesus and Mary.
